Introducing SteelWeb Breccia
In 2025, while exploring the sediment-rich hillsides of southwestern Pennsylvania, I discovered a stone unlike anything I had encountered before. What began as a curious brecciated rock embedded above a fossiliferous slate layer quickly revealed its identity as something special.
After careful study, testing, and lapidary work, I officially named the material:
SteelWeb Breccia Sedimentary Stone (Trade name: SteelWeb Breccia)
This one-of-a-kind stone features angular mudstone fragments naturally cemented by pale mineral webbing, with scattered pyrite specks that shimmer subtly across the surface. It is soft, matte in nature, and visually striking—making it ideal for cabbing, educational use, and collection.
SteelWeb Breccia is a locality-exclusive material, hand-collected directly from the discovery site and offered through EDDIE Company. All known pieces on the market originate from this source.
This is more than a stone—it’s a slice of Pennsylvania’s deep geologic story, brought forward by hand, and offered with purpose.
